Will Young to play in Aztec West warehouse
Workers at Pukka Herbs in Aztec West will get a tea break to remember next week when Will Young performs in their staff canteen.
The pop star’s appearance in Bristol on June 3 is part of BBC Music Day, which will also see a performance on the Severn Bridge with Grammy Award winning Amy Wadge, Bristol’s Renewal Gospel Choir and Only Men Aloud; Shaun the Sheep leading a “vegetable orchestra”; and Charles Hazlewood and his Paraorchestra return to the Colston Hall.
Young will be marking the 75th anniversary of Workers Playtime, a Home Service programme which was started to boost morale among workers during the Second World War.
is needed now More than ever
The performance will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2. Immediately following Young, Katie Derham will introduce Pukka Herbs warehouse staff to a live performance from the BBC Singers, which will broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
Later in the day, Young will also be hosting a masterclass for students at BIMM.
Pukka Herbs co-founder Tim Westwell said: “We are really looking forward to being involved in this exciting celebration of music which will inspire both creativity and positivity.”
