The Spanish Theatre Company presents Federico Garcia Lorca’s searing family tragedy set in rural 1930s Andalucia.
Exploring themes of repression, passion and conformity through the depiction of a matriarch’s domination of her five daughters, La Casa de Bernarda Alba is the final part of the rural trilogy written by Spain’s greatest playwright Federico García Lorca.
Finished shortly before Lorca was executed by Franco supporters in 1936, it is as relevant today as it was then.
Performed in Spanish with subtitles.
March 23 7.30pm / March 24 2.30pm, Redgrave Theatre, £18 / £15.50 concs.
