Bristol Film Festival: A Fistful of Dollars

Director
Sergio Leone
Certificate
18
Running Time
93 mins

The rough’n’ready first film in Sergio Leone’s ground-breaking trilogy, based loosely on Kurosawa’s Yojimbo. Clint Eastwood was still perfecting his star-making role as the Man with (Virtually) No Dialogue in this one, which sees his amoral mercenary ride into town and play off two rival gangs against each other, with bloody, stylishly executed results.

This Bristol Film Festival screening launches the fest’s new Great Westerns event series and will be preceded by a scene-setting talk. Go here for tickets and further information.
