Caught by the River present a great evening of readings, discussion and music with a top line up of writers and musicians including Booker long-listed Max Porter (pictured), Richard King, Kerri ní Dochartaigh, Emma Warren, Rob Gallagher and Stephen ‘Spoonful’ Parker.

“We are returning to our favourite Bristol venue – BS1’s chocolate-factory-turned-arts-space Centrespace – in collaboration with The Letterpress Collective and Friendly Records. This latest Caught by the River Avon event takes place on Friday 6thDecember from 7:30pm, and will feature:

“– a reading from up-and-coming Northern Irish nature writer and essayist Kerri ní Dochartaigh, whose debut book will be published by Canongate in 2021;

“– Richard King discussing his latest book The Lark Ascending – a radical history of Britain’s natural landscapes and the musical movements they have inspired, published earlier this year – with Max Porter;

“– Emma Warren and Rob Gallagher discussing the intersections of their respective books Make some Space and The Dance Floors of England, both of which examine the importance of dancefloors and arts spaces as community hubs;

“– Max Porter, author of Grief is the Thing With Feathers and Lanny, reading from new work, and appearing in conversation with Kerri ní Dochartaigh;

“– Tunes from Stephen “Spoonful” Parker.”
