Multimedia project from photographer Melanie Vaxevanakis, depicting the lives of Greek fishermen and women and highlighting the struggles they face, from fish shortages and oil spills to economic crises and the search for love.
The exhibition launches The Bristol Stable’s new initiative to help support the local art scene.
Every month the Stable will be acting as a gallery for local artists’ work. The aim is to create a hub and community for artists from around the city, giving them space to show their amazing work, including live performances, and giving them a platform and space to meet, share and collaborate. Each exhibit will launch on the first Monday of the month, with nibbles and 20% off drinks.
July 1-31, 11am-11pm daily (Fri & Sat to 12am). For more info, visit www.melanievax.co.uk/varkiza
