Artist Niamh Collins was offered the chance to work for three months at the historic Porthmeor Studios in St Ives, Cornwall.
All the paintings are full of the nature of Cornwall, the movement of water in all it’s forms, the mark it makes upon the Cornish landscape and inspiration from the human activity of St Ives from fishing to tourism.
Niamh trained at the Royal College of Art, and is based at Spike Island. Her work is concerned with representing the experience of landscape through abstraction. From regularly visiting the West Indies, the Caribbean palette has infused her work.
Niamh is the first artist of 2020 to exhibit with Flux, as part of a series of exhibitions by renowned, established artists & makers from across the United Kingdom.
