Passengers travelling from Bristol Temple Meads to Severn Beach on Wednesday, August 14 on the 20:34 train will be treated to a special drag performance.

Travellers in the central carriage of the service will get to enjoy a showing of Drag Queen Bingo, courtesy of acclaimed Bristol drag queens Carmen Monoxide and Dominique Fleek, known together as the Chocolate City Sisters.

Raucous, bingo-based fun with singing and dancing abound, the performance is part of an initiative by Severnside Community Rail Partnership, highlighting how train travel can bring people together.

“On train events are always great fun and we expect the Chocolate City Sisters to completely raise the roof,” says Heather Cullimore, manager of the Severnside Community Rail Partnership.

Drag Queen Bingo on the Train is the latest event. The partnership has recently put on Games on the Train, with tea and chat for the over 50s and Singing for the Brain on the Train with the NHS Dementia Wellbeing Service as well.

Showing that rail journeys can promote diversity and inclusion, Heather says: ”The series of events re-enforce the message of the railway being open to everyone.”
