Campaigners from Greenpeace at the event
Thousands of Bristolians were treated to a free lunch on Saturday as charity Fareshare South West served up food destined for landfill.
At the event at College Green, thousands queued for free vegetable curry from food rejected by supermarkets.
The free event featured demonstrations from celebrity chefs including Tom Herbert from the Fabulous Baker Brothers, Tom Hunt and chefs from the Thali Café.
It aimed to show that a lot of food thrown away in the UK could have been eaten. Research suggests the average British family wastes £680 worth of food a year.
