Police hunt gang who robbed 86-year-old woman

Police are hunting four men who threatened and robbed an 86-year-old woman three months ago in her home in Brislington

Police are hunting four men who threatened and robbed an 86-year-old woman three months ago in her home in Brislington.

The victim was in her home in Birchwood Road on Tuesday, February 19 when four men knocked on her door. When she answered she was pushed inside and forced into a chair.

The gang covered her head and then demanded money. After the woman revealed the combination to a safe, the men took a large amount of cash.

Detective Constable Cerys Millichip said: “This was an appalling crime in which an elderly and vulnerable woman was targeted by these men.

“While she was not physically harmed she was left extremely shaken. I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this crime to come forward and contact us.”

Police want to speak to anyone who saw four men, possibly in a silver coloured BMW, in the area. The victim also gave descriptions of two men. The first is described as around 6ft tall and dressed in black with a covering to his face.

The second man was described as shorter than first, of a medium build with brown hair. He had an English accent, was clean shaven and was wearing lighter coloured clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 16718/13, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
