All-night rave to raise money for Bristol boy with rare genetic disease

The Liam Loves Live fundraising rave takes place in Blue Mountain, Bristol, on August 4, 2012, to raise money to help send the youngster to Australia for treatment.

As fundraisers for children with rare conditions go, an eight-hour-rave wouldn’t be the first thing which springs to mind – but supporters of 10-year-old Liam Rice have organised a massive party in Bristol to try and raise money for the courageous youngster.

Liam, who lives in St George, has Freiderichs Ataxia, a degenerative disease, which will eventually leave him trapped in his own body. He already uses a wheelchair and there is currently no known cure. His family and friends are currently trying to raise enough money to send him to Australia (along with his family) for potentially groundbreaking stem cell treatment.

The ‘Liam Loves Life’ fundraiser, which takes place at Blue Mountain on August 4, 2012, will bring together some hot D’n'B and Jungle DJs in what promises to be one of the parties of the summer- which organisers hope will raise thousands of pounds. Joey Riot and Nicky Blackmarket are playing for free, alongside 32 other artists, so the money raised from ticket sales and a raffle on the night can all go towards Liam’s fund.

The Liam Loves Life fundraiser starts at 10pm and goes on until 6am. Tickets £5adv from www.bristolticketshop.co.uk or £8otd. Over 18s only. For a full line-up see Facebook. More information on Liam and his plight at www.liamloveslife.weebly.com
