Vocalists are wanted in Bristol as auditions for Open Mic UK, the national music talent competition for vocalists and solo artists in the UK, begins this summer.

Vocalists are wanted in Bristol as Open Mic UK, the competition that discovered Birdy and Hatty Keane, is searching for the UK’s best vocalists, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists. Bristol vocalists are wanted as Open Mic UK is coming to St Georges, Bristol, on Sunday 19 August 2012.

Vocalists in Bristol that enter Open Mic UK can perform either covers or original material throughout the competition. Open Mic UK offers vocalists in Bristol not only the chance to win prizes, but the opportunity to perform live in some of the best music venues in the country and the Open Mic UK Grand Final takes place at the The 02 in London.

There will be £50,000 worth of prizes up for grabs for vocalists in Bristol, and the winning act will not only be crowned the Best On The Mic in front of a packed out crowd at The 02 in London, but they will also be offered a recording contract to release their single.
The competition is divided into age categories: 16 and under, 17-22 and 23 and over.
