Bristol Harbour Festival 2012 will take place from July 20 – 22.

In true harbour festival fashion, Bristol’s historic harbourside and Queen Square will take centre stage, offering visitors a vibrant mix of live performance, artists, musicians, dancers, circus acts, markets and street stalls.

On the water, hundreds of sailing vessels, from historic ships and boats to pleasure yachts and harbour ferries will provide a colourful backdrop to Bristol’s annual celebration of its maritime heritage.

The 2012 Bristol Harbour Festival has been funded by Bristol City Council working in partnership with Bristol-based and award-winning event management company, Richmond Event Management. Set to attract over 200,000 visitors, organisers are inviting local business to get involved and make the 41st festival a massive success.

Councillor Simon Cook, Bristol’s Deputy Leader and executive member with responsibility for culture, said: “For thousands of local people across the city and for thousands more who come to visit, the Bristol Harbour Festival is the highlight of the city’s cultural calendar.

“Thanks to the creative talent of local musicians and performers, the festival boasts an enviable reputation for first-class entertainment and family fun. We are looking forward to working closely Richmond Event Management and celebrating the 41st Bristol Harbour Festival.”

Mike Richmond, Managing Director of Richmond Event Management, added: “We are really excited about this year’s festival and working in partnership with the city council. We hope people will put the festival dates in their diaries and get ready to party.”

Entry to the festival is free and many of the festival events and activities are also free. Some shows and performance will incur a charge.
