
M5 lane closed after multi-vehicle crash: Lane three of the M5 in both directions between junction 10 for Cheltenham and 11 for Gloucester remains closed while emergency road repairs are carried out. Reports suggest that the central reservation is being repaired following last night’s collision where 5 people were injured. Occupy protesters question leaders over pay rates: Protesters from the Occupy Bristol camp made the short trip to the Council House to ask questions about executive pay at the city council. The authority last week won a court order to remove the tented village on College Green and its occupants. Bristol pavement crash driver jailed for 12 years: A drunken motorist who drove his car at a group of his friends following a row outside a Bristol pub has been jailed for 12 years. Luke Julius, 25, from Bedminster, mounted a pavement and hit 26-year-old Beverley Cousins on 11 September 2011. Street light petition in Clevedon after crash death: A petition to get overnight street lighting switched back on in Clevedon has been handed in. About 800 people signed the document after soldier Edward Heal was killed in a road crash in the town in the early hours of Christmas Day. Lights are switched off from midnight to 05:00 in some areas, to save money, North Somerset Council said. Bristol’s first car parking camera comes into force: Bristol’s first mobile enforcement car has taken to the roads to catch drivers who park illegally outside the city’s schools, hospitals and taxi ranks. The £36,4000 vehicle, which will be in action seven-days-a-week, is armed with a camera which will also snap people who park on bus stops and loading bays. More from BBC News…

Bristol sports stars start stadium Twitter campaign: A campaign has been launched by Bristol boxer Jane Couch and former Bristol City player Scott Murray who say they’re up in arms that plans for new sports grounds in the city keep getting pushed back. The group who would like land earmarked for development at Ashton Vale to be protected by it being granted Town Green Status have now won the right to a judicial review.
