Swinging sixties styles captured the crowds at the Cabot Circus Autumn Fashion Tour this weekend, reports MyStreetChic.com Editor Gina Dyer
High-end designers like Jean Paul Gaultier, Burberry Prorsum and Bottega have inspired a sixties revival in fashion for Autumn/Winter 2011, and high street stores jumped right on this trend at Cabot Circus’ Autumn Fashion Tour at the weekend.
The centre played host to 11 shows on Saturday and Sunday, with catwalks in Cabot Circus and Quakers Friars featuring new season styles from high street retailers.
Dorothy Perkins brought brightly coloured shift dresses in rich jewel tones to the party, while Jane Norman went to town with graphic monochrome print tees and colour block minis. Platform heels were a must, with New Look supplying them in an abundance of colours. We saw Amy Winehouse style backcombed hair on the runway and super long lashes a la Twiggy.
Also hitting the catwalk were retro inspired colour blocking styles. Forties styles midi skirts in rich teal and mustard were paired with brightly coloured platform heels for a sunny daytime look.
Shoppers also enjoyed discounts of up to 20% in many of Cabot Circus’ stores and restaurants thanks to a special discount voucher book handed our during the shows.
