A city centre recruitment firm will be applying themselves to their biggest ever fundraising challenge when they join thousands of runners taking part in the Bristol 10K.
A team from Central Appointments on Baldwin Street are raising money for Bristol charity Above & Beyond, when they take to the streets on May 15.

Jane Bailey, Kim Richens and Sam Notley from Central Recruitment
Sam Notley and her colleagues have already raised £1,000 towards charity Above & Beyond’s CaRE (Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy Environment) Appeal to help transform Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre (BHOC).
Now Sam wants to double the funds they have already raised, by running the Bristol 10K which will be a first for Sam, from Bishopsworth, who has been working in recruitment for 15 years.
Sam, aged 35, will be joined on the run by colleague Kim Richens, 40, who will also be taking part in this Bristol race for the first time.
Sam said: “We are looking forward to running the 10K as we really want to hit our fundraising target of £1,000 for Above and Beyond.
“We have worked with the charity for two years — both our dads have been in and out of hospital over the years, so it’s a cause close to our hearts.
“They do so much good work for people in Bristol at a time when they are most vulnerable.”
Above & Beyond raises funds for all nine Bristol city centre hospitals within University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.
The charity funds projects which touch the lives of the thousands of people cared for by the Trust’s hospitals and local community services each year.
Lorna Clarke, Head of Corporate Fundraising, said: “Central Appointments offers a great example of how a thriving small business is able to make a real difference within, and give back to its local community.  Sam and Kim are constantly looking for ways to support Above & Beyond. We are so grateful to them for finding time in their busy schedules to train for the Bristol 10k, and helping to raise funds and awareness for the charity.”

The public will have the opportunity to see the difference made to the Centre – which cares for some 6,500 individual patients a year, at a public open day on Saturday, Macrh  5, taking place at BHOC on St Michael’s Hill, Bristol from 11am -3pm.
