Mixing tailored basics with a twist of Glee-k chic and ladylike lines, Dickins & Jones is a new fashion label available exclusively at House of Fraser, in store at Cabot Circus, Bristol.
Despite the obvious runway influence of shows such as Glee and Ugly Betty’s final season, the collection is completely the best of British. The name was inspired by the much-loved Dickins & Jones department store, which was based on London’s Regent Street and closed its doors in 2006.
Bright colours and contemporary prints are integral to the range with simple shapes and feminine detailing at the heart of the designs. Texture is a key feature of the autumn collection, with attention to detail seen in the form of vintage buttons and intricate ribbon trims.
We love the grey velvet jacket, £75 – as the seasons turn, this versatile piece will smarten up your basic black trews and white tee for work, or give your weekend wear a quirky twist.
The purple a-line wool skirt, £65, is oh-so flattering for pear and apple shapes, while the maroon knit dress, £95, has just the right amount of this season’s lace detailing to add a bit of flirty fun to a night out.
Dickins & Jones launches in 50 House of Fraser stores, including Bristol’s Cabot Circus, and online at
www.houseoffraser.co.uk from next month.
