Bristol City Council leader Barbara Janke has met leaders of the city’s retail sector at Cabot Circus to discuss how the future fares.

Richard Belt, Director of Cabot Circus, has said green shoots have been seen but the centre faces another turbulent year – despite Bristol moving up the UK rankings as a retail centre.

Meanwhile, John Hirst Operations Director for Destination Bristol, has said the city is in a “much stronger” position moving out of the recession.

Along with Colin Lang, General Manager of The Mall Bristol, the council leader discusses the issues facing the city.

Wot, this must've been the most boring video I watched all year. I don't think we need more of this.

Btw, weren't the Cabot Circus people going on about getting Bristol into the Top 10 of retail destinations all that time, yet it's still only number 12? (Not that that's particularly surprising, Broadmead is still pretty run down in places and the city lacks shops that are not the same old chain stores that you can find everywhere else.)
