Managers at Windmill Hill City Farm have thanked the community and local businesses for their “amazing support” after the farm reached its target to raise more than £12,000 by the end of the month.

The farm needs to raise £50,000 before Christmas to keep it going and has staged a number of fund-raising events since the summer to help generate the vital cash.

windmill_hillA call was made last month for people to sign up to a pledge to donate £25 each – provided the target of 500 pledges was reached.

Yesterday, the farm received its 500th pledge, allowing the farm to add the £12,500 raised to its existing fund of £25,000.

Emma Page, from Windmill Hill farm, said: “WHCF could not have done this without the amazing support from our community, local businesses and Bristol’s media. Your support is invaluable to our charity  – without you we could not offer the great community services that we do.

“Thank you for helping keep this charity going in these difficult times.”
