
The Conservative councillor called a coconut during a public meeting at Bristol City Council has branded the decision to uphold the appeal by Councillor Shirley Brown against her suspension as “insult to injury”.

Bristol mother Hannah Saaf has pleaded guilty to causing the death of schoolboy Sam Riddall in Westbury-on-Trym earlier this year by dangerous driving. Ms Saaf ran over Sam Riddall after the 11-year-old was returning from an evening youth service at Henleaze and Westbury Community Church.
