Alyx Leighton, 15, from Bradley Stoke went missing on June 26 with her neighbour Jack Saxton, a father-of-two.

Police initially thought the pair had gone to Scotland after finding searches on Alyx’s computer for routes to Scotland and Glasgow B&Bs. But later the search switched to Cornwall.

Alyx’s mother told The Sun last week of her fears for her daughter. Vicky, 34, said: “I just want her home safe. She’s mature in her looks but not in her behaviour. I’m very worried.”

Painter and decorator Saxton was supposed to pick up sons Nicholas, two, and Dylan, 18 months, from nursery on Friday — but never showed up.

He sent fiancee Helen Chanelle a text reading: “Sorry.”
