Scotland international Paul Hartley has joined Bristol City to bring “vital experience” to the squad as they prepare for their promotion challenge, boss Gary Johnson has said.
The Robins’ fourth signing of the summer was revealed on the club’s official website earlier, and Johnson is in no doubt of the quality the former Celtic man will bring.
“He’s got a good work-rate in his game, adds vital experience in midfield and to the squad, and he’s still a Scottish international. He’s also a winner,” Johnson told Bristol City World.
“I think he’s a great signing for this football club both on and off the pitch.”
Hartley, 32, was told by new Hoops boss Tony Mowbray that he was free to leave after making 36 appearances in Scotland last season, and told the club website that City was an “up-and-coming” club.
